Kerala Flood Precautions - Ananthapuri Hospitals, Trivandrum, Kerala

Kerala is facing torrential and heavy rains! A red alert has been issued for nine districts including Ernakulam (Kochi), Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasargod in Kerala. Several roads and train services have also been affected. Drivers, be wary of roadblocks and open potholes. But with proper precautionary measures, we can all overcome any situation - just like we did last year.  

 Here are some precautions to help you with the situation in Kerala. It might seem scary, but we shall overcome.

• Avoid travelling through flood-affected areas
• Move away from low lying areas
• Keep the control room numbers in hand
• Store clean drinking water, essential food and medicines
• Move away from the path of a landslide as fast as possible
• Keep phones fully charged and reduce unnecessary usage
• Avoid walking or driving through floodwaters
• Avoid spreading fake news and false helpline numbers
• Follow the instructions given by the weather forecasters
• Be alert and cautious always
