On this World Immunisation Day, we would like to share make people aware about the importance of getting timely vaccinations against vaccine-preventable diseases.

What is immunisation? Why is it important to get immunised?

Immunisation is the process of making a person immune or resistant to an infectious disease, typically by the administration of a vaccine. It is what happens in your body after you take the vaccination.

Immunisation helps protect you from life-threatening diseases and reduce the spread of disease to others.

How does vaccination protect you?

Vaccines stimulate your body’s immune system so that it can recognise the disease and protect you from subsequent infection or disease.

What can you, as an individual, do to make things better?

As a responsible citizen we all have a responsibility to protect our family members and ones community. If you’re a parent, get your child vaccinated in a nearby health centre. It is one of the most cost-effective health investments that does not require any major lifestyle change!

Let us all work together to reduce the immunisation gap!

Let’s be protected together!
