From October 1st to 31st, all over the world, every year, many organizations celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
What is the purpose of this?
- Increase breast cancer awareness.
- Encourage research.
- Upgrade palliative care facilities.
Although the open forum (Discussion) and Detection Camp are not practical in the Covid crisis, there is a need to continue raising awareness through other means.
The statistics in our country are a little frightening. Breast cancer has become the number one cancer among women in Kerala.
The following methods can be used to conduct awareness in the present situation as well.
1. Raising awareness can be done very effectively through Social Media in the digital age. Facebook, WhatsApp, online conferencing or webinar’s and website information are good ways.
2. Experiences of experts in this field and sharing the testimony of those who have fully recovered are very effective.
3. The color pink is recognized as the logo of all these organizations. Buying and using these colorful costumes, hair bands, scarves, bracelets, cosmetics and toys are all things that show moral support.
It also provides financial assistance to voluntary organizations working in this field. Pink is generally considered to be the favorite color of women and a symbol of love and cooperation.
