CARDIOLOGY
I have great pleasure and satisfaction in introducing the Cardiology Service of Ananthapuri Hospital and Research institute, Trivandrum. Ever since the inception of the hospital on July, 2005, the Cardiovascular Centre (CVC) has been functioning with full facilities. Periodic up-gradation by acquiring advanced equipments and newer skills has helped the department to offer state of the art care to patients with cardiac ailment. We are really humbled to learn that the hospital and the hospital and the department has been well accepted by the public and we rededicate ourselves to the service of the service of the humankind. The Cardiovascular centre has been functioning with full fledged facilities ever since the inception of the Hospital in July 2005. It is headed by Professor C. G. Bahuleyan, one of the senior most and renowned interventional cardiologists in the country. We proudly announce that our cardiology department has evolved in such a way that it has become a centre with the expertise and state of the art technology to diagnose and treat patients with diverse types of cardiac problems. Our cath lab is equipped with gadgets (FFR, IVUS, Rotablator, IABP etc ) capable of performing complex interventions.
Provides service every day including Sundays from 10 am to 5 pm. These include consultation with the specialist, ECG, Echocardiogram including 3D echo and Transesophageal echocardiogram, Treadmill test, Stress perfusion test, Holter monitoring and ambulatory blood pressure measurement (ABPM). Our CCU is a fully equipped 9 bedded intensive care unit with 1:1 staff patient ratio capable of stabilising and managing all cardiac emergencies and critically ill cardiac patients such as those with acute heart attack, acute pulmonary oedema, acute heart failure, cardiac arrhythmias, cardiac arrest etc. The unit is equipped with a fluoroscopic machine for emergency life saving temporary pacing for bradyarrhythmias (low heart rate). In house registrar doctors monitor the patients round the clock. The critical care team are on the alert and available for immediate attention 24 x7.
Our specialists are available round the clock for patient care in the department as well as for expert consultation of patients with cardiac elements admitted in allied specialities.
24x7 Primary Angioplasty
We are providing round the clock emergency angiogram and angioplasty for acute heart attack ; which is the gold standard of therapy for heart attack to date.
Our cath lab services includes coronary,renal, cerebral, peripheral angiograms and interventions. These consist of simple and complex coronary interventions, valvular and structural heart disease interventions, endovascular aortic aneurysm repair among others. We are equipped with the latest in interventional cardiology like Fractional flow reserve (FFR) and Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS) for accurate lesion (block) assessment and stenting, Rotablator for treating arteries with calcified stenosis (old,stiff blocks), Intra aortic balloon pump(IABP) for the treatment of cardiogenic shock (critically low blood flow) and support for other extremely ill patients.
The CardioThoracic and Vascular Surgery unit has been functioning with full fledged facilities ever since the inception of the hospital. Highly skilled team of cardiac anaesthetist, intensivist and perfusionist with experience managing long and complex cardiac surgeries with intraoperative Trans-Esophageal Echocardiography, ECMO standby for high-risk cases etc. 10 bedded CTICU with 24/7 cardiac anaesthetist and intensivist coverage; fully equipped unit with 1:1 nurse-patient ratio capable of stabilising and managing complex and high-risk post-cardiac surgery patients including double valve replacement, high-risk CABG and ECMO cases.
We offer effective and comprehensive care to patients who are diagnosed with abnormal heart rhythms, syncope and heart failure and offers wide range of diagnostic and treatment services including implant of pacemaker, icd, crt, subcutaneous icd and leadless pacemakers. Our state of the art electrophysiology lab offers curative catheter ablation procedures for all types of supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias.
